No winner in Pocomoke election

Before the elections last Tuesday, City Clerk Carol Sullivan said results would only take 15 to 30 minutes before they were posted online, and she’d have been right too, if a discrepancy hadn’t surfaced.

As of Wednesday morning and press time, no winner had been declared in an election where 132 total votes were cast. The problem, according to City Manager and City Attorney Ernie Crofoot, is only 127 votes were counted.

Incumbent George Tasker faced Sheila Nelson for the District 1 seat, while Diane Downing, who works for Worcester County, secured her third term in office representing District 2.

The U.S. is doomed when it comes to doing the right thing. We can't even push the right button on a voting machine , we rape kids in school , we excuse blacks for ALL crimes , we object to police doing their job , we support abortion and the killing of unborn children because we want sex , we supply addicts with methadone which is a mind altering drug itself and habit forming , we legalize drugs , we don't enforce laws anymore , we believe what's printed in the news (very bad) , schools do not teach history anymore , Christians are persecuted while muslims are not. I could go on and on , but you get my drift . Last but not least , if Trump doesn't become president then your a$$ is grass.

6:36, REALLY? "we excuse blacks for ALL crimes" that's just ridiculous. Maybe I should have just rejected that comment. However, let everyone else say their peace.

Listen, people really need to stop making excuses and actually get out and vote. I still believe we can take back America but the mere fact that people bitch and complain, (ANONYMOUSLY) proves that most complaining not only don't vote, they are scared of standing up for what they truly believe. Prove me wrong.

6:36 is correct about "we excuse blacks for ALL crimes", to an extent. The blacks protest and the legal system caves in. Did you see Bill Clinton yesterday when he was interrupted by people in Philly holding signs reading "Clinton crime bill destroyed our communities" and screaming to drown out Bill. During the kerfuffle Bill says "You are defending the people who killed the lives you say matter. Tell the truth." Now the Democrat party is calling for Hillary to fire Bill from doing speeches.

Vilify whites all you want but God help you if you blame a black.

With a voting pool that small, why not do it the old, old way, with an official paper ballot and a marker. Put an X in the box next to your candidate of choice's name, then fold it over and give it to the poll worker, who only makes sure that there's just one ballot, hands it back, then drop it in the slot.

Downing, the race baiter of the council, keeps her seat. We don't need another one of her.

How many people live in Pocomoke, and only 132 voted? People what is wrong with you. Get out and vote, your vote really does count. If you want change you can't sit home and expect it to happen, you have to vote. So far this is a free country, but if that freedom is ever taken away, you will wish and wish and wish that you had voted when you could.

8:53 It's because PC is divided into districts and this one particular district only was voting not PC as a whole.

There were 4,000 when I was a kid living there in the 70's, but don't know the numbers now. May be a lot more, may be less. Either way you need to ask how many are in that District and go with that, not the total population.
