While the economy added jobs and the national unemployment rate was relatively unchanged, the African American unemployment rate remained more than twice as high as the white unemployment rate and nearly double the national unemployment rate, according to Labor Department data released Friday.
According the Bureau of Labor Statistics, during the month of March the unemployment rate among African Americans was 9.0 percent, an increase of 0.2 percentage points over the month of February but a decrease of one percentage point compared to a year ago.
Among whites the unemployment rate was 4.3 percent during the month of March, the same as the prior two months and 0.4 percentage points lower than March 2015.
Asians experienced the lowest unemployment rate of any racial group analyzed by the BLS, with an employment rate of 4.0 percent — 0.2 percentage points higher than the month of February, and 0.8 percentage points higher than a year ago.
The unemployment rate for Hispanics was 5.6 percent.

The Democrats are not worried about the African American vote. They know they have their vote regardless of how their policies affect this minority. If this voting block starts to slip away it can be bought back with something as inexpensive as an Obamaphone. But the Republicans are even more to blame, as they have not come up with policies or even an via argument on how they could help this group.
Black lives matter needs to start with a grass roots effort to showcase - hard work, education , and being a father figure. With these 3 principles the gap would be closed significantly.
Wasn't that free phone mistakenly handed out for the purpose of getting the 3:00am call from a likely employer?

Black Community needs to wake up and realize that Hillary is only using them. Her so-called 'firewall' that she depends on because they are 'guaranteed' due to history since her husband's bid in 1992. Ridiculous. Democrats have been the very reason why so many black males are incarcerated - three strikes out. Hillary will do nothing but continue the Obama policies that have crippled the Black communities and caused mass crime.

Has anyone taken the time to look at the employment rate among Black Dems Vs. Republicans. No they do not want to talk about it. Black Republicans have a higher success rate than Dems. Shocker right lol. BLM is to busy pandering to do anything serious. All Lives Matter
I know a large business who's HR told me that they would NEVER hire a black employee if possible because you can't fire them unless you want the NAACP down your throat or picketing to close down your business. Sounds like OLD thinking but she informed me that it has happened to them many, many times.

3:05PM, it is not OLD thinking, it is very true and I don't blame that large business for not hiring them.
I'm surprised it's not 3 or 4 times higher than white unemployment; they have every incentive to not go to work. They get everything they want so why work. Thanks, Obama.
