What's With These Commercials Being Repeated Over and Over Again On WBOC

When you can't sell local commercials on local television, stations fall back on national ads that pay far less then what they sell you on a local level. This is why you are seeing so many commercials of the protective pads, (just like Grandma used to have) for your dining room tables.

Another thing you should take notice of is the REPEATS of local commercials over and over again. Once again, they repeat because those time slots have not been filled/sold and they get major discounts for ads that run at random. Those random ads fill in for slots that have not been sold.

So what does this tell you. Well, it tells you that your local stations are failing to sell new ads because advertisers are starting to realize people are either muting these commercials or they are fast forwarding them and they are not getting the return on their money like they used to.

You might also notice how many FILLER commercials WBOC is running for their new radio station. You know darn well they wouldn't be filling in their prime time commercials that can be sold for actual money verses running their own promotions and I think you'll agree with me, there's a LOT of them.

I called a local Car Dealer and asked WHY these type of businesses run so many ads when you know people aren't watching their commercials. Their response was, we don't do it any more unless we're running a special sale. They went on to say, you are right, advertising ON LINE gives us a far better return.

When I had retail businesses in the past and I ran commercials, we always went for the filler spots because they were not only a lot less money. In many cases we'd end up on a Redskins game or an Orioles game where they hadn't sold the slot. If you paid for that spot it would cost you a small fortune.

On January 1st 2016 we shared with all of you our traffic. Love me or hate me, we deliver more local on line traffic then anyone else out there. We also deliver far more news and information each and every day. Considering our ads are only $100.00 a month, the word is quickly spreading and businesses are doing far more research and changing the way they advertise.

And what do you have to lose, ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS. Try us, I think you'll like us very much.

I totally hate the commercial "A place for mom"
More like: What are we going to do about mom!
Where can were warehouse mom so she won't be a burden to me!!!!!

I think the only reason they started WBOC 102. 5 was so they could sell ad packages. Buy on tv, get radio as well! Just like DelmarvaLife was started solely so they could sell that "Delmarva Experts" block. WBOC, like all media, is desperate.

When I warehouse grandma I'm going to make sure that she has custom table covers and bra that fits.

And those annoying Johnny Janosik commercials every time Captain Willey talks about the history of a place.

I agree they are just repeat, repeat. I like Captain Willey and the pieces he does on local places to visit, but the ad for Johnny Janosik's is old and tired.

Guess Comsuck (here in OC) continuing to block all non-news content "duplicate" materials (WBAL 11 and WJZ 13) hasn't help revenue for WBOC or WMDT. Tiny-time still remains a factor here early in the 21st Century!

And then there's radio. Some of the O.C. nightclubs haven't changed their jingles and commercials in 30 years.

When watching W.B.O.C I keep remote in hand. Five different commercials they run gets muted immediately.

What REALLY burns me is that television stations are required by LAW to run a certain amount of public service spots and you will see 2 seconds of an add and it disappears to another ad. They can say they ran it and they really didn't run it. (I guess) Sad.

I haven't had cable for almost a year. Comcast sent me a packet in the mail begging me to reconsider their high prices!!!
When hell freezes over!!!!

is anyone else having trouble picking up WBOC's over the air signal? Just a standard antenna in my house. It seems every time the wind blows- the signal goes out. Am I the only one?

We have a small business and cannot afford commercial time. It's hard times out there.

Those card lock sleeves must cost all of 3 cents each to make and ship in bulk to the States.

I hate the drug commercials. 10 seconds to tell you what it is and then 50 seconds warning you of possible side effects. At the end of the commercial you can't remember a damn thing.

They need Ms. Kitty to make them some commercials!!!! Fire that idiot Dean!!!

If you can't make it in what is for all intents & purposes a monopoly market...

Funny part about card lock is that they make it seem like someone can steel your credit card info unless you have the sleeve to protect it. Credit cards generally do not have an RFID chip in it to be scanned in such a way.

Pretty much any card that has an RFID chip will come with one of those paper sleeves to block such data theft but credit cards do not require it. Its a complete scam from Card block.

Quit the whining. It could be worse.....ISIS could be a few miles away and headed your way.

Who is the guy in the Card Lock commercial? map

additionally, ads are cut short & don't get the airing that is paid for. (they can squeeze in more ads this way.)

Have you heard the "Vermont Teddy Bear" ad on FOX News (not local FOX21) at least 4 times an hour. I will be glad to see Valentine Day over, just because of that ad.
