Yes we don't want our children watching people smoke. However if the women im the movie are half naked that will be ok. /sarcasm off
Smokin' is fine with me, but smoking needs to go.

This sounds like something that the PC police would be advocating. Perhaps we should just blindfold children while they're out in public and they wouldn't see it there either.

So Smoking Dope is ok but smoking cigarettes is not? What in your vapor pipe you smoke!
Hardly.
It's almost comedic to see the puffing away in 1940s through 1960s movies when the studios were paid by tobacco companies to have their actors smoke on screen. Those actors did a boatload of advertisements for cigarettes and cigars on TV, radio and magazines.
Smoking used to be a flavor and vanity thing. Now, it's a "nicotine (drug) delivery device", as in electronic smoking devices.
Where are we going with this? Will we have "(Insert drug of choice here)delivery devices"?

Why do they need to smoke? What does that have to do with the story?
No. Just preview the content of the episode or movie and let viewers decide whether or not they want to watch.

How about drinking in movies? Both activities require that you are an adult to partake. What is the difference?
