Virginia policewoman killed on her first day on job; Army sergeant charged

(Reuters) - An off-duty U.S. Army sergeant stationed at the Pentagon has been charged with fatally shooting a Virginia police officer on her first day on the job as she responded to a domestic disturbance at a home outside Washington, authorities said on Sunday.

Ashley Guindon, 28, an officer with the Prince William County Police and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, died of her wounds after being shot on Saturday evening, a day after she was sworn in as a member of the force, the department said.

Two other officers, Jesse Hempen, 31, and David McKeown, 33, were also shot during the altercation and remained hospitalized, Chief Steve Hudson said during a news conference.

Black male shooting a white police officer. Where is the outrage? Where is the media? Where is Al Sharpton? Where is Obama? Why no rioting? Where are all the black mouthpieces that show up when a black person is considered a victim? Disgusting double standard.

R.I.P. young lady. You served us well and got the job you really loved. So sorry your life was cut so short by a sick individual. Hopefully justice will be served. An eye for an eye...

I live here and t is all over the news and plastered on social media. I have not seen anything national though. The response from the community has been amazing. However I some negative posts. If you look at posts on Facebook almost all of the condolences are from white people. I did actually see one thread where a black girl said "good, 1more dead cop." This was followed by white people reprimanding her and black people saying she deserved it and why attack thus girl for her opinion. Made my blood boil. Of course most of the negative responses had a Black Live Matter hashtag. Still think BLM is not racist? Better wake up America.

So why have we not heard from the King in Charge? This is absolutely sickening. The first day on her new job that she worked so hard for. Rest in Peace, and know that there's a special place in hell for the scumbag that shot you.

No media outcry on blacks killing whites, as usual.

10:58 It wouldn't have mattered what color the officers were. This guy was ready and willing to kill anyone who came through. Race baiting works for both sides. Just saying.

And the first condolences I heard were from his wife's family(who are black) and they thanked the officer for her service. Sit down clowns
