Troopers Investigate Robbery West of Georgetown

Georgetown, DE - Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of an individual as he was driving on Warrington Road just west of Georgetown Sunday afternoon.

The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m., Sunday February, 2016, as a 34-year-old male victim was traveling westbound on Warrington Road and came to a stop at the intersection with Asbury Road. At that point, two vehicles blocked him in so he could not pull away and three male subjects jumped out of one of vehicles. One of the males was armed with an unknown type handgun and stood at the front of the car pointing the gun at him while the other two opened the driver’s side and passenger’s side doors. Once the doors were open, the two demanded his money and began punching him in the face before removing his wallet from his pants. The suspects then jumped back into their vehicle, which was described as a red Ford Bronco and drove northbound on Ashbury Road with the second vehicle, which was described as a black Chevrolet Silverado, following right behind.  The victim was slightly injured in the incident, but did not require immediate medical attention and was able to call 9-1-1.

The three suspects were only described as white males with one of them being armed with an unknown type handgun (No further physical or clothing description is available at this time).
