Deal Island Students Working to Raise $1,500 to Fight Childhood Cancer

Westover, Maryland

In a recent email to several schools and the central office within the system, 4th/5th grade math and science teacher Kolby Noble recently wrote, “Hi everyone! The students, staff, and I at Deal Island are raising money for childhood cancer in the Lemonade War that we're participating in. We've already raised more than $950 for cancer research! On February 29th, our Professional Development Day, Peaky's Restaurant in Princess Anne is sponsoring our fundraiser. Anyone who eats at Peaky's on this day will help us raise money. We will receive 10% of every bill that day. Please consider dining in or ordering out to help us reach our goal of $1,500. Thanks for your support!

The Lemonade War’s mission is to raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily for research into new treatments and cures, and to encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer.
