City officials are seeking state help to bail the Ocean City Municipal Airport out of its water and sewage drainage issues.
During Tuesday’s afternoon work session, the City Council moved to apply for a Maryland Aviation Administration grant to be used to cover 75 percent of the cost of connecting the airport’s facilities to Worcester County’s water and sewage services.
“Currently it operates on a well, and a drain fill down off Airport Road in the vicinity of the Lion’s club parking lot that services the terminal,” Director of Public Works Hal Adkins told the council. “There were discussion a long time ago to hook up the airport to central sewage, along with the golf course clubhouse and the animal shelter. Those two are done, so we’re looking to complete the airport project.”

It's a long stretch of road from Wor-Wic to the airport. How many homeowners will be interested in tapping into water and sewer along the route? And how many won't?
This will bring city water and sewer over five miles outside city limits, making all the land in between ripe for development of one kind or another. Ah, progress!
Previous comnenter....wrong County and airport this is Worcester County not Wicomico
Whoops.
Funny that Wicomico airport is looking to do the same thing, then.
