(PREFACE: I am TOTALLY against drunk driving.)
BUT... These people - MADD and that crowd - will not be satisfied until a jail term is called for if the driver has even one drink 8 hours before driving (like the airlines do with their pilots).
Reason? They need to do this - they need to have some sort of "tougher" legislation each and every year to stay in the "business of drunk driving".
If a legislator votes against these draconian laws that they are putting forth, then that legislator is "for drunk driving".
As of now, a 1st-time DUI will cost the person around $10,000, and many weeks of time for classes.
It's too bad some organization doesn't have the same passion against heroin addicts - and maybe even citizens that burn down their cities in protest.
The days of enjoying a glass of wine with a nice dinner out are coming to an end thanks to this crowd.
Enjoying a nice dinner with a glass of wine should have come to an end with the invention of the car. No public transportation no drinking and don't stand outside urinating on my rosebush. Spirits and other drugs are the stupidest activity humankind engages in.

I think you may have missed the point of 7:03.
I don't think the poster was talking about the people "urinating on my rosebush". It's the fact that the MADD crowd needs to pass stricter legislation EVERY session to legitimize their existence. If not, NO funds will be forthcoming. It's all about money, not 'drunk driving' at this point.
One more point: The CEO of MADD never made more than $20,000.00 in her lifetime, until she became the CEO of MADD. Today, she is worth over 15 MILLION dollars.

Alcohol is big business, and pot is headed that way also.
MD is a joke when it comes to DUI penalties. We pee away huge money to arrest drunk drivers just so their good old boy pal the Judge can give them PBJ. Don't believe me, look up the records of the monied robber barons of OC and Worcester Co.
I think we need more people drinking and driving. Maybe their driving will improve then. A lot of these sober drivers are worse than any drunk IMO.
