Dollars for hostages

Every American should be glad that American hostages have been freed by the tyrannical Iranian regime and are being reunited with family, friends and co-workers.

Less satisfying is the return of Iran’s $400 million trust fund, used to buy military equipment, which was frozen in 1979, along with its diplomatic relations with the U.S. (plus what President Obama ludicrously called “appropriate interest” of $1.3 billion), all returned to what the U.S. State Department branded the world’s “preeminent sponsor of terrorism.” Expecting Iran to use this windfall for purposes other than terrorism would be like expecting a kidnapper to donate the ransom money to a children’s hospital.

While President Obama praised himself and his “diplomatic team” for concluding the Iranian nuclear deal, which he claims will ensure that Iran “is never allowed to build a nuclear weapon,” Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s world view has not changed one iota. “In (implementing) the deal,” Rouhani said, “all are happy except Zionists, warmongers, sowers of discord among Islamic nations and extremists in the U.S. The rest are happy.”

Paying ransom and negotiating with terrorists is always a slippery slope. Hence, why Reagan did not do these types of actions. Now, there are more Americans being held captive overseas and not in the Middle East.

A 21 year old, American student, Otto Frederick Warmbier, from UVA whom was traveling as a tourist, was arrested for supposed 'perpetrating a hostile act' against the regime was just arrested in North Korea. No one paid ransom. That was Irans money already. They complied with the agreement and got what was owed them. NO ONE PAID FOR HOSTAGES. STOP WATCHING FOX NEWS!
If you don't like the deal be mad at Obama not Iran. Their politicians did their job, in the best interest of the people of Iran... something sorely missed here in the USA.

12:10PM you are incorrect. Humans are considered collateral as well as money. They are construed as ransom and the actions of Obama's Administration have nothing to do with Fox News.

Obama has now released several other Gitmo detainees to destinations unknown in order to secure the five in the Middle East. And now, North Korea has followed suit, probably to secure a comparable deal.
