Detectives Conducting a Death Investigation-Laurel

Laurel, DE - The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit are currently conducting a death investigation after a 61-year-old female was found deceased at a residence in Laurel.

The preliminary investigation of this incident revealed it occurred at approximately 12:24 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2016, as a female was discovered by a family member in the unit block of West 6th Street, Laurel. First responders arrived on scene where the victim had an apparent signs of trauma and pronounced deceased.

At the request of the Laurel Police Department, Delaware State Police Homicide detectives responded to the scene and are conducting the death investigation. This investigation is in its preliminary stages and more information will be released when available.
