No it wasn't....I seems as though there was one guy in the area who strapped his gun on and took a position where he could hear the shots and defend himself should the bad guys come his way. They didn't. He never engaged them. He was not a sheep but neither was he a sheepdog. He heard the shots being fired and people being killed and he did nothing to stop them. He was a porcupine.

if he went near that place with a gun the cops would have killed him
I'm not faulting him. I'm simply stating that our government and society have not only created a populace where many are cowards will ball up and wait to be killed but also a smaller portion who will only protect themselves or their family members. They will stand by and watch as people kill other people without acting.
