NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – More than 500 employees for Norfolk Public Schools have until Friday to pay delinquent personal property taxes, before the city takes money out of their next paychecks.
Administrators said they sent a notice to employees Thursday that the city served tax liens on them.
“If I don’t collect the revenue, we can’t pay these individuals…I have a job to do and we use all of the tools that are available to us to collect these taxes,” said Norfolk City Treasurer, Anthony Burfoot.
In addition to those 565 school employees, 425 city workers are in danger of losing some pay, Burfoot said. The employees owe more than a combined $280,000 in delinquent taxes that were due months ago, he said.

Well, you have to pay your taxes
Should happen to all government employees, city, county, state, federal, not only for personal property taxes but all delinquent taxes.
How 'bout Al Sharpton!?
That would be racist to demand that he pay his taxes!
