BREAKING NEWS: 5,500 US troops to remain in Afghanistan beyond 2016
US officials tell the Associated Press that President Obama will extend the military’s stay in Afghanistan beyond the end of 2016, breaking his earlier promise to pull out all but a small, embassy-based troop presence before leaving office.
