BALLSTON SPA - A 20-year-old man will spent a year and a half in jail for lighting a pit bull puppy on fire earlier this year.
Scott Cusson Jr., the Halfmoon man who pleaded guilty in August to aggravated cruelty to animals was sentenced Friday to 18 months in state prison by Saratoga County Court Judge James A. Murphy III.
The sentencing took place at the Saratoga County Municipal Plaza in Ballston Spa.
Cusson was arrested in February and later indicted for intentionally lighting a nine-month-old pit bull named Roxy on fire. In his August 21 guilty plea, Cusson admitted he intentionally caused serious injury to Roxy with no justifiable purpose. He acknowledged in open court that on Feb. 9 he sprayed isopropyl alcohol on the dog and lit the alcohol, causing injuries to the dog’s face and ear.

WTF is wrong with these kids ??? I hope he becomes someone's puppy in prison.
Let's remember the correlation between torturing animals and graduating to killing people. I hope that this kid gets some serious counseling, other than what he'll get in the prison shower.
The sentence was too light. He should have received at least ten years. He is a danger to society.
Start with puppies then people. Should set him on fire.
Pure evil! I think he got off easy!
Definitely needs some help!
Filthy pig ...I hope General pop. Gives him he'll..these sick people need real therapy via vigilantism justice to fix their minds...same with child molesters...
I hope someone keeps their eye on this guy. As alluded to in previous posts, this is how psychopaths start.
People like this need to have a microchip implanted post prison release to monitor their whereabouts. My concern is the same as another commentor, where that guy will be a threat to humans as well.
By the looks of his photo he doesn't look much like a dangerous psychopath. Looks like a scared kid that just realized how really really bad he screwed up and really really stupid he is.

Do the crime, do the time. He got what he deserved.

They all look that way in court. I wonder what the puppy looked like when he began??
I don't care who you are.
He should have gotten longer sentence if he does this to a puppy what would he do to a person that cut him off in traffic, or just a dispute with a neighbor, history proves that people who kill animals are just as likely to kill humans.
