Fox Theatre’s intention to sell beer and wine at its uptown location has hit another snag and won’t get a hearing before the Worcester County Board of License Commissioners until August, according to Fox’s attorney, Joe Moore.
“We haven’t resolved the issue of what type of liquor license to pursue,” Moore said.
The theater chain originally applied for a Class B, 7-day, beer and wine license and had been scheduled to appear at the June 17 meeting of the Board of License Commissioners, the governing board for liquor licenses in Worcester County. A Class B license could allow sales of beer and wine both as an on-site purchase and for takeaway.
“For a Class B, food ordered from a menu is generally required,” Moore said.
Maryland license code’s rule 11 requires Class B license holders to “have available from the regular menu, hot meals between the hours of 12 p.m. and 9 p.m. provided the premises are open to the public.”

Oh my, we can't have people drinking at the movies!
Are they going to build more bathroom facilities to offset the larger numbers of folks that have to pee? Seems like the Health Department should check into that one folks.
11:04-My thoughts exactly, but the same theft that plagues the music industry also plagues the movie industry.A really bad economy (in my opinion)made it almost impossible for the full family movie experience to continue.Downloading enables the economically challenged among us to listen to and watch that which we can no longer afford otherwise.Going to movies used to be a big part of my life, but now it's a special occasion event only.Alcohol will only add more expense (in my opinion)
No added expense if you don't buy it. I've not been to a movie theater since 1994 and don't miss it one bit.
