Look Up

This reminds me about the Salisbury University students who walk to and from the college via the tunnel on Rte. 13 and Hardees.

I have lost count observing these
"kids" (who at this age in life should already have sense enough to look both ways before walking out in front of a vehicle)texting and talking on their cell phones. These "kids" are totally unaware of their surroundings.

They zip through that accident waiting to happen tunnel on bikes, skateboards, and on foot without ever looking up, down, or around.

Elementary school-age children do better at stopping and looking before crossing than these college kids do.

If they aren't on phones, they have ear buds in their ears so they can't hear a horn blowing, or any emergency vehicle hurrying down the road. I've watched them crossing Rte. 13 in front of Cheers and many times not even at a cross-walk.

They certainly act like I dare you to hit me.

I really believe the college should do a much better job in training these "college-age children" on how to cross the streets and roads. Perhaps with all these liberal classes that abound, a basic course in common sense and safety would be much more beneficial.

Uh, pedestrians have the right of way! If you are driving, it is your responsibility to stop for a pedestrian.

Not at controlled areas with stop lights.

OK. Go ahead and hit a pedestrian crossing the street. See you in criminal and civil court.

I've always worked on the theory that it doesn't matter if you're right or wrong if you're dead.

Who the hell shoved "the pedestrian has the right of way" crap down every bodies throat? If you are too stupid to watch out for vehicles when crossing a road then you deserve to get hit. I was taught cars are bigger than you and watch out for them when crossing. What happened to personal responsibility? let Darwinism take over and thin out the herd!

Uh, I can tell you from personal experience that 'right of way' doesn't mean a damn thing when you're being run over by a Buick.
