Baltimore Mayor announces free summer youth programs

BALTIMORE —Baltimore City officials have announced free summer programs will focus on giving kids more opportunity to help them stay out of trouble.

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks officials met at a west Baltimore boxing gym Tuesday to announce free summer programs.

Jaden Williams, a 13-year-old seventh-grade student from Sandtown-Winchester, one of Baltimore's toughest neighborhoods, said he knows one bad decision can change his life.

"You can get into trouble if you just keep on standing outside and doing stuff with your friends and following them instead of playing sports," Williams said.
