Lt Dennis Reinhard, head of Game Day Security for the Baltimore City Police Department at Camden Yards, spoke with WBAL NewsRadio 1090's Anne Kramer about the new metal detectors that will greet those going to Orioles games in the 2015 Baseball Season.
Lt. Reinhard, talks about the role that the Baltimore Police Department plays in the overall fan experience.
Here is additional information from the Orioles regarding the security changes at Camden Yards.
As previously announced by Major League Baseball, all MLB teams have implemented mandatory metal detection screening of all fans prior to entry at each MLB ballpark. Oriole Park at Camden Yards will now have walk-through magnetometers or hand-held metal detectors at each entrance in order to ensure a safe and fun environment for fans attending Orioles games. Fans are advised to allow themselves plenty of time for entry, as entry is expected to take slightly longer this season.

Allow for a lot of extra time. This will make it an extra 11/2 hours to get in. Its stupid. This is baseball. Terrorist are gonna stick out like a sore thumb and thugs don't go to games. Do this at soccer matches rap concerts.
1206-No thugs at baseball games? The two O's fans who assaulted a guy in 2013? The multiple incidents at the Giants/Dodgers over the years?
I've seen many fights at baseball and football games in recent years. Just the way of the world.
they just blow up fans at marathons 12:06
All crowded places are potential targets but thats why salisbury is pretty safe from a terrorist attack.
This is required by major-league baseball. It is in every stadium in the US.
Who really wants to put up with this! High ticket prices, high parking fee, and over priced food. I say to hell with them. I have better things I do with what little spending money I have after paying my taxes and expenses! Maybe if enough people stop going to the games and boycott them, maybe things would change for the better!
