Well, this used to be the stuff of crazy fright movies, but now a doctor is insisting that he can transplant the head of a living patient onto the body of a dead donor patient. The Frankenstein-like operation is being called crazy by some, but one man has already volunteered for the switcheroo.
The doctor was called “nuts” by some, but a terminally ill Russian man named Valery Spiridonov has announced that he wants this operation.
A man with a fatal medical condition has spoken exclusively to MailOnline about how he is set to become the first person to undergo a head transplant and hopes it could be as soon as next year.
Valery Spiridonov says he is ready to put his trust in controversial surgeon Dr Sergio Canavero who claims he can cut off his head and attach it to a healthy body.
Mr Spiridonov, 30, a computer scientist from Russia, said: ‘My decision is final and I do not plan to change my mind.’
As a lifelong sufferer of the rare genetic Werdnig-Hoffman muscle wasting disease, he says he wants the chance of a new body before he dies.
‘Am I afraid? Yes, of course I am. But it is not just very scary, but also very interesting,’ said Mr Spiridonov from his home in Vladimir, a city 120 miles east of Moscow.
‘But you have to understand that I don’t really have many choices’, he said. ‘If I don’t try this chance my fate will be very sad. With every year my state is getting worse.’

Evil.
Until I pulled up comments 12:32 my thought was ridiculous. But I see your point. Once the spinal cord was cut it's death.
So if someone who knew that still performed the surgery it could only be for evil purposes.
Some people can't accept the reality of dying.Going to these extremes to stay alive is not in god's will.
Talking about a real "head" case lol
Good luck, buddy!
RIP,LOL
hillary should try that
He seems to think it's actually a "body transplant", rather than a voluntary decapitation. Creepy and pretty disturbing anyway.
Didn't Jon Kerry have that done?
Except he had a dead head put on a healthy body.
It can be done. It's been done with Monkeys with success, but my question is how to reattach the spinal cord and make it function as well as all the nerve endings. In the lab the Monkeys live, but they are paralyzed, so all you have is head on a living body that will eventually die if the brain is unable to send signals to the heart to function. I think it will be eventually possible and when it does happen, rich people will be able to live practically for ever!
you'll have to aks obaba bout that
