“County revenues are anticipated to dip from $178 million in the current fiscal year (FY15) to $167 million in FY16 unless significant budget stabilization funds are utilized,” Commission President Jim Bunting said. “The County has lost over $40 million in property tax revenues since fiscal year 2009 due to declining assessments, and property tax revenues are projected to decline by another $4 million in FY16.”
While the County’s overall financial health remains strong due to sound fiscal management, the Commissioners have taken this action to help buffer the affects of reduced tax revenues in order to avoid having to utilize all of the remaining budget stabilization funds to balance their operating budget in FY16.

Bob Culver has a new Office and it is not Rick Pollitt's old Office any more.
Those who were dedicated to Rick and are leftovers collecting a paycheck simply won't cut it.
EVERYONE is either excited to have a job working under Bob or, (if it were me) they'd ALL be gone.
They'd either understand and support my VISION or they'd get a pink slip.
Bob doesn't need to continue walking around with a BALL AND CHAIN slowing him down. I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of new faces in Wicomico County, at least I'm hoping so.

Joe is a property owner and taxpayer in WICO I believe. So bite me.
I believe there are close to 26 staffers in P & Z and EP most with an anti growth agenda. I wonder how many millions of dollars of tax base has been lost. Their paychecks should be based on the dollar value of permits issued. If you have every tried to get anything done in Worcester County you know. Fire half of them give raises to the best of them and see the tax base expand with about 99% of the environmental safe guards still implemented. One day Ocean City is going to be able to keep a fair share of their taxes and Worcester is going to be in big trouble.
