You won’t be able to navigate a boat at will in the upper Chesapeake Bay area through April 15. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) has designated the area hazardous because of icy conditions and will require permission from the Captain of the Port of Baltimore or his designee for boating in the region. The restriction is in effect immediately.

Martial law on the water!
Agreed. Are we not free men? Can we not take a chance with our own lives and property to do as we want? If its a risk to emergency workers then guess what? Do your jobs.
News Flash! All waterways in Alaska are closed do to ice...
3:48. You can take a chance with your own life as long as you do not expect to be reduced if something bad happens.
This happened a few years back. I was aboard an Army ship heading to Florida for my 2 week reserve training. Departing Curtis Bay, we were stopped leaving the mouth of the Patapsco River. I thought we were doomed and having all the booze stash and snacks, my dreams of that year's training were looking pretty sad. Don't get me wrong, we avoided happy hour until we were OFF duty. Anyway, the Curtis Creek USCG came out to save the day and broke the ice before us. Our trip to Lauderdale was saved and the trip back saw no ice left. Great memories.
Forget the water, is the bridge safe with all that ice freezing and melting and freezing again? Just wondering.
