Witness Statements Leaked In Ochse Case

State’s Attorney Beau Oglesby is considering what action he might take following his discovery this week that a recently launched website, www.justice-for-locals.com, is featuring what appears to be authentic police witness statements involved in the investigation into the death of Justin Cancelliere.

Cancelliere was pronounced dead in the early hours of Aug. 24, 2014 at Atlantic General Hospital. Arrested in connection with his death were Caleb Ochse and Christopher Blake Kendall, who were charged with manslaughter, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and fighting. The initial trial date is set for Jan. 7, 2015.

It is unclear from the website how many witness statements were leaked. At least three, but as many as seven distinct accounts of the night’s activities were made public. The accounts vary, but the editors of the website highlighted portions where witnesses claim not to have seen any specific altercation between the victim and the accused.

I could never understand why Mike Farlow agreed to defend this murderer. The Family did everything they could (unsuccessfully) to discredit Beau Oglesby. Then they go and hire Beau's opponent for the SA's position.
Mike should have respectfully declined as these people are out of control and quite frankly nuts and it's easy to see why the defendant has made a career out of being a defendant. With a family like he has, he does not need any enemies.

How unfitting that the public would know as much about the case as do the law enforcement. The public cannot be trusted with truth.

Everything important must be kept secret from the public. The public (you and me) are the enemy of the state.

I've been following this and this Ochse family are some evil wicked and weird people and it IS easy to see why one of them finally killed someone.
They are trashy too. Someone died and whether or not they believe their family member is at fault or not, decent people have dignity and don't play this out in public.
I hope the SOB rots in prison and it will be due to the sins of his own family.

5:59-It's not rocket science or anything. Witness statements are kept confidential otherwise one witness may change their story so it lines up with another one's.
Same reason why prosective witnesses aren't allowed in the courtroom during trial until after they testify.

After any trial everything is open to public view.
If you feel this makes you an "enemy of the state" (trying to guarantee everyone involved gets a fair trial) then I'm thinking maybe you better seek some help for your paranoia.

It had to be the defense attorneys I think.
Why any local defense lawyer would have involved themselves with this whacked out bunch is beyond me. They are out of control and that handwriting was on the wall from Day 1.

For real-This clan is a study in dysfunction.

After viewing Caleb Ochse's extensive criminal record, "Justice for Locals" will be served only when HE is behind bars for a long long time!
