ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland voters will decide in November whether to make it harder for state officials to spend money in the state's Transportation Trust Fund on anything unrelated to transportation.
The question will be on the ballot as a constitutional amendment. The "lockbox" proposal is aimed at limiting the practice of using transportation money to patch other holes in the budget.
Maryland lawmakers passed legislation in 2013 to put the matter on the ballot as they approved a gas tax increase to shore up transportation funding.

As long as Norm Conway didn't write it to confuse the voters like he did on the Wicomico Elected School Board referendum - we should see this one pass with a clear majority support!
Vote YES ! What good is a 'trust' fund that can be used just like a general fund - NONE! All trust funds should be locked from use other than what they are intended for. Everyone knows once you take money out of a savings account it never gets put back and that is just what the Dems in Annapolis did with OUR road taxes FOR road repairs and maintenance.
Yes!! This could help keep Norm from stealing our road monies for other pet projects.....oh wait, He wont be there to steal anymore!!!
