Easton Police Department claims 1st place in the Maryland Law Enforcement Challenge

On September 8th, the Easton Police Department was awarded first place for the state’s primary traffic initiative; The Maryland Law Enforcement Challenge, for their category. During the past 13 years, the Easton Police has taken the top honor 11 times. Easton police competed in the same category of police agencies with 25-75 officers.

To achieve this recognition, officers had to demonstrate excellence in their use of educational programs and enforcement of Distracted Drivers; Click it or Ticket; Impaired Driving; Aggressive Driving; and Child Occupancy Protection.

The motivation of this program is to help make all of Maryland’s roadways safer by education, prevention, and enforcement. Although the Easton Police Department is the recipient of the award, the citizens of Easton are the true winners. During the rating period, auto collisions have reduced in Easton by 10%

As with the other State of Maryland partners, the Easton Police are also committed to the methodology of “Towards Zero Deaths”, a goal towards having no fatalities on any Maryland roadway.

Sounds like this press release was written for 3rd graders. It's all about revenue, nothing more nothing less.
