Still no new expense postings from the Wicomico County Executive's office. Last post was in May as we reported last week. What are they hiding? Oops, forgot there's an election coming up. Wouldn't want the taxpayers to REALLY know where their tax dollars are being spent.

I am new to this list. What is this about? Does this money go to feeding children? Wouldn't it be cheaper to purchase groceries? If this is going to students...which students are eating at these places and why.

Even if the kids are in school they are fed lunch every day and not on these gift cards.

why did these people purchase this food. is it for them personally, for They're families, for parties and gatherings, lunch, dinner, breakfast? why are they allowed to use our tax dollars for all this? has anyone tried to stop this? is it still happening? please tell us...

These people need to be ashamed of themselves.
Nothing more than HOGS at the trough.
Hang your heads in shame you bunch of ill bred sponges.
What kind of parents raised these hogs to mooch off of the system! A true reflection of their upbringing.

This is what career bureaucrats do best, mooch off the taxpayers.

All these charges for Sobo's Wine Bistro, I'm just absolutely, positively, convinced, they are for the children, NOT! Who are these people trying to kid - so irresponsible, they should all hang their heads in shame. And furthermore, all of them should be fired for mooching off the HONEST taxpayers in this county.

SHAME SHAME SHAME

Common low class thieves!
What would really be interesting to see, is if they've stopped stealing this summer since they've been caught.

The problem is people who take advantage and do this have no shame.
They are from a class of people who themselves have no morals, values, and principles. We were always told they were "from the wrong side of the tracks."
The worst part is no doubt many of these sponges have reproduced so the cycle of sponging will continue because you know they won't teach their own children right from wrong.

Back in that time frame a bunch of us went to the US 13 Dragstrip one Sunday for an "educational experience".I don't work for the BOE & just tagged along. No mention of that trip above I see.

Anonymous 10:31, I'd like to point something out to you. Several years ago, in one of the wealthiest school districts on Long Island (Roslyn), there was employee theft on a grand scale. Administrators were using credit cards belonging to the district for jewelry, trips, vacations, artwork and boats. The scheme was uncovered by a Home Depot employee, who questioned why a large purchase of lumber to be delivered to a private residence was being paid for with a school district credit card. She notified her manager, who notified the district, and the skeletons started falling out of the closets. The members of the theft ring were not from "the wrong side of the tracks," as you euphemistically put it. Very, very far from it.

looks like a free for all at the BOE. Great my taxes get raised while they say it for the kids. Its never about the kids. I am over pollitt as he has helped create this culture over there. We must cut the head off the beast and hit the restart button.

Anonymous said...

This is so disgusting. It makes me sick to my stomach. How can these "educators" sleep at night? And why does our government continually increase their funding? Just say NO until they get their priorities right.

Anonymous said...

Some of these charges are probably for lunch during meetings. Those employees could bring a bag lunch from home like non-government employees without a credit card do. Round up all those credit cards and cut them up.

$50 at Sobo's is just lunch for two

Those you are referring to Queensgirl are the epitome of those "from the other side of the tracks."
They were attempting to show off and had a keep up with the Jones mentality on a water income.
Typical behaviour of the type.

This is partly the citizens fault. We need to stop voting for people based on promise and vote for people based on their records. Pollitt should stop funding them until a clean aduit has been done and we can see just how broke they are. pollitt is part of the tax and spend problem so I expect nothing to be done here.

I'm not buying the "meetings" BS. The pattern is all summer long. It's gotten to the point where this needs to be called what it is and that's embezzlement which is a crime. Unless the superintendent (and the politicians) is himself hiding something he would not only welcome but get the ball rolling into a criminal investigation.

Anonymous said...

So what are " the people" to do,
except blow off steam about the crisis.

Is there an answere out there---
who shoulc be called on to investigate & who does this??

Anonymous said...

I think this is where all the local media outlets need to band together and demand accountability. There has to be records explaining expenses and if there isn't than the superintendent has some explaining to do as to why he's running a free for all with no accountability.
Spending this kind of money all summer long raises more than just a red flag.

Anonymous said...

I think the county council tried to get explanations but got stonewalled. Nothing new there. Try to get public info. the board of ed. doesn't want you to have.

Anonymous said...

its because the voters in wicomico are to dumb to demand accountability.

Anonymous said...

OK...I am a voter...I live in the county...I have grandchildren in the school system. Where do I go...who do I see....spell it out. How does one person go about stopping this theft. Tell me and I will begin.

We have schools that need serious repairs or replacing and all the politicans want to do is raise taxes. It's the same old bull shit just keep spending the money and expect the tax payers to keep coughing more money.I haven't had any kids in school for about 40 years and I wouldn't complain about slightly higher property taxes if I was sure the money wasn't being wasted and stolen by those crooks in county government and the board of education. Its time for some searious changes and an investagion, some people need to be fired and put in jail.

Anonymous said...

I think they deserve these perks. They work for the government for crying out loud. What do you expect?

Anonymous said...

The best part of working here is the free food.

Anonymous said...

Above the law and just no respect for themselves, the public or the school. But then again what can be done? Our own county executive is no better.

Anonymous said...

Dr. Freddy and his pal Pollitt have got to go -- vote for Bob Culver and the Republican candidates for the Wicomico County Council.

Anonymous said...

I teach...we can't get books for each kid in the class...do you see why now????

Anonymous said...

Joe how come we aren't seeing any from the executives office?

Anonymous said...

there are a number of people on the payroll of wcboe who have no teeth...they can't afford them...look where the money is going...it is really sad--beyond sad...

Anonymous said...

Brian Ashby does not need any more food!

Anonymous said...

I don't know where this money is going but this isn't to the student lunches. The school lunches are terrible. Todays lunch was a single slice of cheese pizza the size of a large from papa johns or pizza hut with a side of a half rotten salad and a small cartoon of milk. If a health inspector even checked this school for food quality and health violations the school lunch would have been shut down already.
