The officer involved in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., is getting support from the Anne Arundel County police union.
The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 70, the union that represents officers in Anne Arundel, has donated $1,070 to an online defense fund for Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. That's the largest donation listed for the campaign on the website gofundme.com.
O'Brien Atkinson, an Anne Arundel County police officer and president of the lodge, said his members wanted to send money to help feed police officers working long shifts during the protests and unrest that have erupted since Wilson shot Brown on Aug. 9. But the national FOP suggested contributing to the legal defense fund instead.

If they were really smart - really savvy - they would also donate half of those funds to the family of the little 3-year-old girl that was shot and killed in a drive-by in Baltimore about two weeks ago.
She didn't perform a strong-arm robbery before she was killed; she didn't terrorize an owner of a market. She was just a little girl with her life ahead of her.
Perspective - that's what it's all about.
Yeah, I bet they donate to DEMOCRAT candidates running for office also... Big mistake.
I hate Verizon and had many similar problems with them in the past. And they'll stay in the past.
But do you think that perhaps you could be taking the tech's comments out of context when they say "blow up"?
I could say that my toaster is ready to stop working and blow up, but is it really? It's just a figure of speech.
In order to have a huge explosion, you need a real fuel source. If the verizon hub "blows up" there won't be much of a fireworks display. It's all metal, electricity, and wires in there. It would really loud, like a transformer blowing, but that's about it.
