Connecticut trooper pleads guilty to stealing from dying motorcycle accident victim

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – A Connecticut state trooper has pleaded guilty to charges he stole cash and jewelry from a dying accident victim.

The Connecticut Post reports (http://bit.ly/1wzcA6N ) 45-year-old Aaron Huntsman entered a guilty plea Wednesday to charges of larceny and tampering with evidence under the Alford Doctrine. That means he does not agree with the state's case, but concedes there is enough evidence to secure his conviction.

Prosecutors say Huntsman, a 19-year veteran of the state police, was caught on video from his cruiser's dashboard camera stealing a gold chain and $3,700 from 49-year-old John Scalesse as the motorcyclist lay dying on Sept. 22, 2012.

Bikers tend to carry large amounts of money for some reason. The rule of thumb is that the nicer the bike, the more money the biker carries.I have no idea why that is.

@11:09 - that makes stealing from a dying man ok?

11:58 I do not see where 11:09 eluded to that. He simply stated what he felt to be a fact.
And if you used your brain, his fact would infer that this is known to some people including the popo, which is why the popo stole it.

It's a cop! What did you expect?
They generally steal for a living.

Its not just the cops. Ever look at the amount of gold some EMT's wear?

A 19 year veteran of the force??
Anyone actually think this is the first time he has stolen? From DYING or DEAD people?
I'll bet all his "brothers" thought he was a fine man. A true hero. A cop among cops.
Protecting and serving, ya' know. Each other, mostly

Someone was mad that the cop got it first, it could have been him, EMS guys, hospital personal, mortician, or someone in his own family! WE received charge card bills from my sister, after she was killed in an accident and buried, 2 months later! Since it was under a $1000.oo the cops didn't bother to investigate. Her Ping golf clubs magically disappeared from the trunk of her car at the wrecker yard! The sick most sickening thing though, when she was brought to the hospital, for server head injuries, someone had removed and stolen her underwear!

At least, with the Crips, you know what to expect.
A cop shows up at an accident where you are bleeding out and much to your surprise, doesn't try to help you, but begins to rifle through your pockets and yank the chain off your neck. On film.
