Burger King introduces gay pride Whoppers

Friend,
Burger King recently promoted the "gay pride" message with a rainbow Whopper wrapper at one of its stores. Unless there is some pushback from consumers, there is a real possibility that they could expand this promotion.
During this year's annual gay pride event in San Francisco, the Burger King location along the parade route sold a "Proud Whopper" with fanfare promotion by the corporate office.
It was the same Whopper as always, but in a rainbow-colored wrapper.
Fernando Machado, Burger King's Senior Vice President of Global Brand Management defended the company's promotion, telling USA Today that the "Proud Whopper…showcases who we are as a brand," adding, "It shows how we, as a brand, believe in self-expression."
Transexuals and cross-dressers are the main attraction at San Francisco's annual gay pride paradesWhy you should care
Unless Burger Kings sees a backlash for promoting cross-dressing and homosexual conduct as normal behavior, it will expand the promotion to other cities and additional stores next year.
TAKE ACTION
We have prepared an email that you can send directly to Burger King executives.
In addition, a copy of your email will be sent to the Burger King Franchise Association, reinforcing your message that promoting and encouraging abhorrent behavior will drive families away.

NOTE: If you'd like to call Burger King, they're number is 1-866-394-2493.
It is very important that you forward this alert to your friends and family members.

Why can't BK have this at one store in San Fran that is predominantly gay? Maybe the Salisbury store should have a redneck burger in a camp wrapper with family tree that includes 2nd cousins as spouses. Please notice the idiots that wrote this up have limited English skills. Last line has "they're number" rather than their number. Kinda like the mensa rejects that wrote "illeagles" instead of illegals.

This type of marketing involves swallowing your pride and doing the right thing. Nice work BK in realizing that there is a market to be capitalized on.

Who cares? It was a location, in San Fran, along the parade route. Get a life, people.

I'm always amazed at the number of reach-outs from insulted people who can't take the time to spell correctly.
It tends to give readers an impression that the writers aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer, if you know what I mean.

The anti burger king add is dumb.....the homophobic folks arent winning this fight and wont.....the religious right is losing ground on a daily basis. The eastern shore folks arent the sharpest at times and its fun to watch these supposed bible thumpers pass judgment......maybe they need to read alittle more ....

11:03 They actually think they did spell it right. Shows what kind of intelligence is behind these people trying to create outrage.

You are a "Didn't read!" reader aren't you? Liberal.

11:03 Actually us "religious" ones are simply keeping to ourselves. We are not "losing" anything.
In fact we know, in the end, we will be the winners, always.
