Maryland had no economic growth in 2013, according to new estimates released Wednesday by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
The state’s real gross domestic product (GDP) showed zero change last year, ranking 49th in the country. By comparison, Maryland’s GDP rose 2.4 percent in 2012.
Only Alaska and Washington, D.C., fared worse in 2013. D.C.’s GDP dropped 0.5 percent, while Alaska’s slid 2.5 percent.

I think it would be a great idea to take the Governor of the State with the 49th worst economy and elect him President in 2016!
How that for a bright idea that Martin and I share!
What else can be expected when the citizens are taxed and charged fees on just about everything but the air we breathe????
Taxed to death by Democrats. Folks, I keep expressing the issue that it begins at the local level. Elected Democrats have always spent more than they have so they have to raise taxes.
our local ruling class elite Democrats Mathias and Conway are also to blame!
That is not true.. Right wing spin no doubt. O'malley has said we have had significant economic growth and low unemployment. Just because the stores in Salisbury are closing down all around us is not evidence to the contrary. He has said so and I believe him.
owe'malley is great at creating jobs they just happen to be in other states
These facts prove that all the warm and fuzzy things that O'Malley says about our State economy are lies. Well he's a Democrat so lying is expected.
Wow! It's a great time to raise taxes again! 40 in this past year for O'Smelly, and only one for you, Rick! Step right up, Rick; I'm sure there's a few more you can shove up our behinds before the elections!
So as soon as i can sell in fruitland im south bound
Wish I could sell in Fruitland, land of high taxes, who would want it and if someone did, I would never get my money out of it or even close?!
