Millsboro – Detectives are investigating a home invasion that occurred yesterday evening.
The incident occurred Sunday evening at 11:30 p.m. at a residence in the 28000 block of Russell Street. Two black male suspects with bandanas over their faces entered the residence which was occupied by three males, ages 35, 28, 24, and two females, ages 40 and 13.
When the suspects entered the residence the 35-year-old male and 28-year-old male fled by jumping out of windows. The suspects assaulted the 24-year-old male, and may have discharged a firearm while in the residence. They stole money from the 24-year-old male, who eventually escaped by jumping out of a window. The suspects then fled.
The 24-year-old male was treated at a nearby hospital for a non-life-threatening head injury. No one else was injured. Detectives have determined through preliminary interviews and investigation that this was not a random act, and the victims were targeted in the home invasion.
