Public Notice of Closed Session

THE SALISBURY CITY COUNCIL WILL MEET AT 1:30 P.M. ON MONDAY, MAY 19, 2014 TO ENTERTAIN A VOTE TO CONVENE IN CLOSED SESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSULTING WITH COUNSEL AND STAFF TO OBTAIN ADVICE ON A LEGAL MATTER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND §10-508(a)(7)(8).

THE CLOSED SESSION WILL BE HELD IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS, ROOM 301 OF THE GOVERNMENT OFFICE BUILDING (125 N. DIVISION STREET) AT WHICH TIME THE PUBLIC CAN OBSERVE THE MOTION, ANY DISCUSSION AND THE VOTE TO CONVENE IN CLOSED SESSION AS NOTED ABOVE.

IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE ADJOURNMENT OF THE CLOSED SESSION AT APPROXIMATELY 2:15 P.M., THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED WORK SESSION WILL BEGIN.

THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO ATTEND.

even if it can be closed, don't they have to give some general description of the "legal matter" such as a suit threatened against the city, etc.???

I hope Lore' Chambers sues Ireton personally, then we'll see that printed in court records. I hope Ireton hasn't cost the taxpayers a mint.

Unfortunately, Maryland has the least effective public info law in the US. The Democrats block efforts to make it better for public disclosure.
