Marijuana Is More Addictive These Days — Here's Why

One of the common misconceptions people have about marijuana is that it isn't addictive. Dr. Samuel Ball of the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University (CASAColumbia) explains how marijuana has evolved over the years and debunks the myth that weed isn't an addictive substance.

This article and "research" is B.S.
It is not addictive. This assessment is from personal experience and the experiences of many others. There are no physical or psychological manifestations from the stoppage of marijuana use.

This article is simply misinformation or propaganda. Period.

Stupid potheads will always deny the truth about it.

There hasn't been enough research to make those conclusions. Just like cigarettes and liquor, it should be me that decides what I ingest or inhale, as long as I'm doing no harm to anyone else. Obesity kills more people than marijuana. Tylenol kills more people than marijuana. What next, fine or citation for being fat?

9:48...stupid people will believe anything they are told. You probably believed it when they told you marijuana will turn people into werewolves and make white girls go sexually crazy for black jazz musicians.
Since the existence of werewolves has not been definitively unproven, you still going with that one, too?
Start thinking for yourself.

I have used every drug known to man almost,Meth,Coke, acid, shrums, pills, hash, alcohol and cigs. I have snorted it,smoked it,shot it. I have done nothing but alcohol and pot(K-RON) for twenty five years. Heck I probably seen more dope than most of you ever dreamed of. Truck loads. My opinion is that POT is definetly addictive. Doctors say people with addictive personalities are the ones that get hooked, I say bullshit to that. You can take a regular girl or boy and let them smoke some coke or do some H and bamm baby they are hooked. Pot is slower Ill give you that but it is addictive. Pot is not like it used to be, it is all very strong now. Straight out of northern California. Besides it being addictive just think about everytime you buy an eigth you spend $50 or $60 times once a week times fifty two weeks a year. Imagine what you could do with that extra money for yourself, your kids, your parents. Granted when you play that game you are not spending money to do it but making money and doing it for free. Gotta remember that all good things come to and end and one day your ass will get popped. Its the nature of the beast. If I had it to do all over again sitting here at fifty years old I would never of touched any of it. Hell it probably took twenty five years off my life health wise. Life is to short. Want to have fun have a few drinks and dont drive and be with the ones you love, that is the best high of all.

Addiction is a real word with a history. You can't use the word any way you like.

Mary Jane is NOT addictive.

Sorry to burst your illusory bubble. Maybe you did too many Mush-rooms?

It is not addictive. I know because I smoke it every day.

Everything and anything can be addictive. This is an undeniable fact. There are whole TV programs devoted to people's strange addictions.
Many regular marijuana smokers get irritable, jittery and apprehensive when going without for a longer than normal period then they are used to.

ADDICTION :a strong and harmful need to regularly have something (such as a drug) or do something (such as gamble)

According to psych classes on addiction the harmful part is a prerequisite. And with that in mind your addiction is judged by other people.

How many people have been part of a pot intervention?

How bout you 2:13 PM? You ever been told "Man your problem is you smoke to much weed." Or is it more like your are smoking weed, drinkng, and doing bumps. Piggybacking drugs is also a clear sign of a "problem" but it still ain't addiction if you only do it every so often and not every day. That is you need the strong drive.

Now if you can't get a job, you live in filth and you ignore your kids because you are constantly high, you have a clear problem. You are lazy and also likely an idiot anyway. The weed didn't do that. That's you. Its who you are going to be. Cause quitting is easy if you have to do it.
