Newark - Detectives have charged a New Castle man after linking him to two robberies that occurred this past weekend.
Robert Lloyd, 40, was apprehended in Newark yesterday afternoon after leading Cecil County Sheriff's Deputies and Maryland State Troopers on a vehicle pursuit that began when they tried to apprehend Lloyd in Charlestown, Maryland. After being apprehended in Newark Lloyd was turned over to Troop 2 robbery detectives.
Troop 2 and Troop 4 detectives had obtained warrants for Lloyd's arrest after determining Lloyd committed the May 25 robbery of the TD Bank at 34980 Midway Outlet Drive in Rehoboth, and the May 24 robbery of the Riggins gas station at 2650 Capitol Trail in Newark.
Lloyd was charged with one count of robbery first degree and one count of robbery second degree. He was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Center on $70,000 cash bail.
