Judge Kathleen Watanabe with the 5th Circuit Court in Hawaii slapped De Mond with a $200 fine and one year of probation for telling his son to walk the last mile home, despite Hawaii’s law allowing parents to discipline children with punishments such as spanking, KHON-TV reported.

He didn't drop the kid off and leave him to go home alone. My parents put us out of the car more than once, alone or together, for arguing or acting up in the car. If you wanted the privilege of a ride then you better behave.
Liberal activist judge should be held in contempt of the court!
Thank goodness the person who picked the child up wasn't a murderer or child predator. This story could have had a very different ending.

I dont get it. My 8 yr old girl is forced to walk a mile to North Salisbury. Wicomico schools will not provide a bus. I really should walk it with a video to show. Other kids get a bus at their door.

I walked 1/2 mile to school each day to kindergarten.
Walked a mile or more each day to the rest of my school days & years.
And of course, walked back each day.
Guess the judge thought the kid was entitled to a ride as preparation for eventually joining the latter day Choom Gang!
