CNN Anchor Breaks Down as Parents of Vet Treated at Phoenix VA Facility Read Their Son’s Heartbreaking Suicide Note on the Air
Iraq War Veteran Daniel Somers survived over 400 combat missions only to return home to a “system of dehumanization, neglect, and indifference.” He ended up killing himself last year after receiving treatment from the now infamous Phoenix VA hospital.
On Friday, Somers’ parents appeared on CNN to discuss their son’s tragic demise and the reality many veterans face in the United States after returning from combat.
They also read some of Somers’ heartbreaking suicide note on the air. In addition to writing that his body had become “nothing but a cage, a source of pain and constant problems,” Somers also outlined the painful truth that results in the deaths of veterans every single day:

I have suffered for over 47 years and still haven't gotten an answer.
You can pass the buck to who ever , but the commander and chief of the military is Obama.
He should be accountable for the entire mess.
They taught me how to kill without question , they gave me metals for killing , they deserted me in my time of need.
They expected me to live a life under this president who has screwed up the entire world.
Obama doesn't even recognize our flag and his wife the same.
I only wish he was my enemy on the battle field.
This VA thing will grow to a very alarming issue.
It wouldn't surprise me to see civil uprising , at least I hope.
There was a news flash on TV the Offices of the Va
were"fudging" the amt of time the
Vets had to wait to get an apt.
By doing this they received more
bonous money for quick responses.
There was a guy who worked at the VA & went online in disguise to tell what he had been told to do by the
administrators at the facility so they could acquire more money from the Goverment.
How in the heck is this man responsible for knowing or doing this?
He's not----he only knew what the
records were showing! The buck stops
with the people who were falsifying
the records!
You put your trust in the people in
these offices to follow rules &
regulations. Everyone there should
be fired!!!!!
Obama should be impeached NOW!!
It makes me sick our country has let Mr Somers down he served our country and we could not help him and many other Veterans it has to stop now!!
Just for the record,don't ever volunteer for ANYTHING!!
