Crash Leads to DUI and CDS Arrest- 4/8/2014
Incident: DUI / Possession of CDS
Date of Incident: 7 April 2014
Location: 32000 block of Longridge Road, Parsonsburg, MD
Suspect: Patrick Allen Layfield, 46, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 7 April 2014 at 5:15 PM a deputy responded to the 32000 block of Longridge Drive for a reported motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, the deputy located a F150 that had run off the road. While speaking with the operator, Patrick Layfield, the deputy detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The deputy also observed that Layfield was unsteady on his feet. Layfield would be subsequently arrested for DUI.
The deputy located two empty bottles of Captain Morgan in Layfield’s vehicle along with a pill bottle that contained what was identified as narcotic pain pills that were not prescribed to Layfield.
The deputy transported Layfield to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Layfield in the Detention Center in lieu of $15,000.00 bond.

15K bail seems kinda high when so many drug dealers get out for much less.
