George "Spanky" McFarland (October 2, 1928 – June 30, 1993)

Spanky was not Blake.

Then known as Mickey Gubitosi, Blake began his acting career as Toto in the MGM movie Bridal Suite (1939) starring Annabella and Robert Young.

Gubitosi then began appearing in MGM's Our Gang short subjects (a.k.a. The Little Rascals) under his real name, replacing Eugene "Porky" Lee. He appeared in 40 of the shorts between 1939 and 1944, eventually becoming the series' final lead character. James and Giovanna Gubitosi also made appearances in the series as extras. In Our Gang, Gubitosi's character, Mickey, was often called upon to cry, for which he was criticized for being unconvincing. He was also criticized for being obnoxious and whiny. In 1942, he acquired the stage name Bobby Blake and his character in the series was renamed "Mickey Blake." In 1944, MGM discontinued Our Gang, releasing the final short in the series Dancing Romeo. In 1995, Blake was honored by the Young Artist Foundation with its Former Child Star "Lifetime Achievement" Award for his role in Our Gang.

Mathew Beard ended up getting clean and lived the last 15 years of his life doing drug awareness seminars. He was also on Good Times as "Monty".

Robert Blake became the tv character Baretta who shot and killed his wife, just a few years ago.

In 2005, Blake was tried and acquitted of the 2001 murder of his second wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley,[4][5] but on November 18, 2005, Blake was found liable in a California civil court for her wrongful death.

8:43, he did not shoot his wife, a jury said so! Geez, even if your exonerated by the courts, your guilty in the judgment of your peers.

Blake was also "Little Beaver" in the "Red Rider And Little Beaver" series.

he was also in the movie, 'In cold blood', by Truman Capote.

Porky was replaced in 1939 by Mickey Gubitosi, later known by the stage name of Robert Blake.

Porky, not Spanky.

That is Spanky in that picture not Robert Blake. It is a still from the 2nd film he was in entitled "Spanky" where he famous line is "Im bug huntin" as he nails ants with a hammer!! There is a great clip of Spanky on the Mike Douglas or Larry King show on youtube. In the past 2 or 3 years the actor that played Waldo was killed by several hammer blows from some random punk kid that assaulted him near his home. In Leanord Maltin's book it ks claimed that Wheezer was killed by a hand grenade in training during WW2. i have many of the original obits from when these folks died in a sort of scrapbook I keep. Love me some Rascals-I bought the entire set on dvd before I even had a player. My Mom's neighbor here in Salisbury claims he was in some of the later Hal Roach comedies-the Froggy/Mickey period.
