$10.10 Minimum Wage Passes Senate Committee

The Senate Finance Committee approved a $10.10 minimum wage for most Maryland workers, but extended the increases over the next four years, rather than three as the House of Delegates had done. The bill also ties the minimum wage to increased state reimbursement for disability support workers, who currently average $9.82 per hour.

With five days left in the session, the committee finally acted on the House version of the minimum wage hike, HB295, which passed the House nearly three weeks ago. The bill now heads to the Senate floor, and must eventually go back to the House to approve the changes.

The bill had been held up by Senate Finance Chair Thomas Mac Middleton, who used it as leverage to get a pay increase for support staff of individuals with disabilities.

You'll be easily able to correlate the job losses to these dates in the future - even if the economy takes an upswing...

There is not one economic impact study done by anyone that suggests the economy will suffer with a higher minimum wage. Shoot, even large corporations support the measure. How backwards are some people?

With each passing year more people like 11:12 will be losing their jobs and not understanding why. It is real basic economics 101. To get a real understanding, go start a business in this Obama economy and then you will understand real well why the idea buys Democratic votes but it ruins the economy.

11:12 AM I can only say that you need to be better informed because your argument is on the grade school level and its pretty clear you have no clue what you are talking about or you are simply lying to try and sway opinion. Either way I disagree with you as do the facts.
