I never get tired of these homecoming clips...God Bless our men and women in the service! Thank you for all you do...I just wish we had a commander in chief worthy of you.
I, for one, am extremely tired of these public displays. Before you judge: I am a Vietnam-era veteran with two years stationed in the Far East - 1969 to 1971. Personally, I feel these homecomings should be more personal. I equate these public displays the same as I do as the very public "will you marry me" events that you see every day on YouTube. I get it. You missed your family. Your family missed you. You did your duty, so how about coming home without some big fanfare? Why put your family - people that love you and that you love dearly - into the spotlight? Should not this be something as personal and loving as anything else possible? To me, it's nothing more than "grandstanding". I know I'll get some grief from this post. But, as a veteran, it's how I feel...
