Ron Paul: $1B US Aid Package Pledged For Ukraine Won't Help

Former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul says a $1 billion aid package pledged by the White House to Ukraine won't be effective because such money never gets into the right hands.

Billions of dollars in aid were sent to Egypt, Libya, and Syria in recent years, but nothing has improved in those countries, he said Wednesday on Fox News Channel's "Your World with Neil Cavuto."

"It always backfires," said the former Republican and Libertarian presidential candidate.

Paul said he thinks support from most members of Congress and most Americans is well-intentioned, but he also thinks there are ulterior motives behind it.

"We don't have clean hands," he said. "Sometimes it has to do with energy and special interests and the military-industrial complex."

How in the hell can we give them a billion dollars when we can't pay our own bils?
