New Job Openings In The City Of Salisbury

Looks like the City of Salisbury is hiring in the storm water department. Funny how there’s only $20k in the budget to pay them. Maybe if we charge everybody a new tax we can pay for this. We’ll call it a "Rain Tax"!

Project Engineer

Full-time - (35 hrs. wk.) Salary: $48,003 Full range of benefits


Duties: Plan review, engineering planning and design, management of design and construction projects, contract administration and construction management. Must have knowledge of municipal water systems & treatment, sewer systems & treatment, storm drain systems, storm water management (MDE 2007 update preferred), road design , traffic studies, temporary traffic control, hydraulics, hydrology, and soil mechanics. Experience reviewing and creating design and construction drawings and specifications, preparing requests for proposals/quotes, preparing construction contracts, performing hydraulic modeling (InfoSWMM & InfoWater preferred), grant writing , public speaking, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD 2012, ArcGIS 10.

Must have strong writing skills and well developed interpersonal skills.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, E.I.T. in Maryland, P.E. is preferred. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Plan review or design experience in municipal infrastructure and storm water management is desirable.

Fulltime – 35 Hrs. Week Salary: $26,177 Full Range of Benefits


Essential Functions: Monitors new street and sidewalk construction, including inspections, and contractor payments; inspects new concrete, blacktop and milling construction to include proper construction methods and traffic control. Reviews, monitors and maintains an index of permits to break and/or obstruct public streets and ways. Receives citizen requests for sidewalk repair and sends estimates; lines and grades for new concrete, curb, gutter and sidewalks using surveying equipment; monitors new house construction for curb, gutter and sidewalks.

Requirements: High School Diploma/GED and one year related experience. Proof of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of City of Salisbury’s policies and procedures. Flagger, soil erosion, and traffic control certifications preferred. Must have a Maryland Driver’s license with clean record.

12:42 some people are Engineers in name only-- this is just a glorified Construction Superintendent position --there is no degree requirement in the posting

48K for an engineer with a PE, wow and they wonder why the city is falling apart! I loved this city, but when Joe lost I sold my property here and moved back to DC with my Wife full-time. No lie, if I could prove it without giving you haters my name I would.

Haha $48,000 a year for a civil engineering degree, good luck paying off your student loans.
