Marijuana & Post-Traumatic Stress

The Health and Human Services Department backs a study on marijuana as a treatment for veterans with post-traumatic stress. Researchers have struggled for decades to get federal approval. The Food and Drug Administration cleared the University of Arizona research long ago. But the scientists could not buy marijuana from the National Institute on Drug Abuse. The agency's Mississippi research farm is the only federally-sanctioned source of marijuana. HHS approved the purchase in a letter last week.

News Flash:
The anecdotal evidence is already there. If one could accurately establish the numbers of vets, from Viet Nam to present, that choose marijuana over taking the plethora of mind and body-numbing drugs prescribed by physicians and psychiatrists for symptoms of PTSD, the tale would be better told.
In fact, several tales would be told, including the efficacy of marijuana, the zero death rate from marijuana use (as opposed to suicides and accidental overdoses by "regulated" psychotropics), failure of psychotropic "therapy", and the role in suppression of marijuana by Big Pharma and its government lobbyists, as well as the politicians who "Just Say No" when "no" is the last thing they should say.
