ANNAPOLIS, MD (March 6, 2014) – Governor O'Malley today released the following statement after the Maryland Senate voted in favor of the O'Malley-Brown Administration's proposal to expand pre-kindergarten in Maryland:
“Thanks to the leadership of the general assembly, we made the better choice to invest in education over the last seven years. Those choices have led to better results, helping Maryland schools achieve the number-one-in-the-nation ranking five years in a row.”
“Last school year, 82 percent of Maryland children entering Kindergarten were fully ready for school, an increase of 36.7 percent since 2005-2006. We’ve seen the difference a quality early education can make in our children’s achievement, that’s why today’s vote is so important. By voting to expand pre-k to more Maryland children, we’re building a stronger foundation that will help our state compete not just nationally, but globally.”

Will be another unfunded mandate that will be left up to us taxpayers to deal with. Let's call it what it is....expanded free daycare.
Waste of my Tax money to babysit illegitimate brats, so mom can smoke more crack, get drunk, and sell her body for drug money!
82% ready for Kindergarten -- does that mean 18% could not make it that day?
Since when is there a criteria for who is ready and who is not ready for Public School?
Isn't that where they go to be fed Breakfast Lunch and a Snack because those who sired them were not taught in the Public Schools they attended to be responsible and feed their meal ticket with the food they get from Food Stamps?
