1 In 9 Virginians Born Outside U.S., New Figures Show
CHARLOTTESVILLE -- University of Virginia researchers say Virginia's foreign-born population is growing and now comprises 15 percent of the state's workforce.
The Weldon Cooper for Public Service's Demographics Research Group says one in nine Virginians was born outside of the United States, compared to one in 100 in 1970.
