I remember taking my now 19 year old son to Ringling Brothers when he was 4. I thought it would be a fun family outing. We were so excited. I remember sitting there and watching the elephants and being so sad and sick for them (and believe me I am not a huge animal lover). These huge majestic creatures being corralled in a tent was just awful. From that day forward I made a choice to never pay to see animals held in captivity ( unless rescued). It is just not right to make animals perform.
We already have a circus in Salisbury and it's free. Attend a city council meeting.
I think the animals they use they get from being orphaned because of death of a mother or can not live in the wild due to injury and such.
