The outreach events were held in Princess Anne, MD, and Elkton, MD
Salisbury, M.D. -- Last Saturday, February 8, the Office of Representative Andy Harris held two free IRS outreach events for constituents on the lower and upper Eastern Shore. Both events allowed constituents to ask questions as they prepare to file their 2013 tax returns.
The morning event was held at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, and the afternoon event was held at the Elkton Central Branch Library in Elkton. At the morning event, IRS officials fielded questions on topics such as tax filing preparation for the elderly and identity theft. They also highlighted various tax changes.
At the afternoon event, IRS officials responded to questions about the Earned Income Tax Credit and identity fraud, and provided information about available tax-aid resources, specifically free tax-return services provided by AARP and the IRS’ Free File program.
For anyone who was unable to attend, please find (below) links to the resources that were distributed at the events.
