Guess the city does not need paid firefighters.
How bad is the damage at Fratelli's?
Now lets see how quick the loonies get on here telling the firemen how did not put out the fires correctly and called too much stand by.
Volunteers could have put the fire out just as well. Did you have a point?
Since Mardela and Pittsville were called to Salisbury will they get a check from SFD or does the SFD expect everyone else to work for free but them?

Since so many on here feel that we do not need a paid department. We should start a citizen's brigade. Where it is mandatory that all citizens be involved. When there is a fire near them, they have to drop what they are doing and go put out the fire.

we had a very proud and effective Volunteer Fire Department.
They were emasculated by a Progressive Union-loving -less than competent Mayor.
Her legacy besides a Park Bench in the ghetoo?-- is a bunch of prima donas who know driving a several hundred thousand dollar rig to do their shopping that knows it grinds at the citizenry.
What is worse is the current limp wrist Mayor who could care less what they do--or what is needed here for the general public.. as long as their Unions can do as they please..even Drink and Drive
