Just days after Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) was sworn into office, Virginia Democratic lawmakers announced their plans to push more gun control in 2014.
The Associated Press reports the proposals include the expanded background checks which McAuliffe supported during his gubernatorial campaign.
They want the checks to cover "all commercial purchases" and include a "ban [on] gun ownership for five years for individuals convicted of stalking or sexual battery, and [limits on] gun access for individuals who have been involuntarily treated for mental health issues."

You can definitely blame the GOP for this. They let Cuccinelli lose the election while the Democrats planted a third party "Libertarian" in the mix. More than likely those votes would have gone to Cuccinelli, but the GOP did not support him. Third party candidates are the reason many good Republicans lose elections. Instead of joining the independents or Libertarians they should join ranks in the Republican Party and run out the Establishment.
12:59 - Spot-on....this is a perfect example as to what will happen in the fall...and two years later...unless the Republican party concentrates on defeating tyranny instead of the standard party line!
