Police Developed Strategies For Safe Travel This Holiday Season

Maryland State Police, along with the Maryland Transportation Authority Police, Anne Arundel County Police, Baltimore County Police and the Baltimore Police Department developed strategies for safe travel this holiday season.

During the Thanksgiving holiday enforcement period, Maryland State Police made 6,800 stops; 140 arrests; and 101 driving under the influence arrests. There were NO fatalities reported. Fatalities are down 14 percent statewide.

As the busy holiday season continues, we remind motorists to:

Move over for emergency vehicles
Refrain from drinking and driving
Wear safety belts and use child safety seats
Obey speed limits
Comply with laws regarding cell phone use and
Be courteous.
